As of July 1, the Department of State Development will be amalgamating with the Industry Development division of the Department of Commerce, the West Australian Tourism Commission to form the newly-named Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation. It will also assume responsibility for the Office of Science, International Education and Innovation. These changes are a result of state-wide government reforms aimed at creating collaboration while delivering cost savings.
