The Department of State Development works across Government, with industry and communities to identify, secure and plan for the infrastructure needs of heavy industry. This includes industrial land, port and transport planning for major projects and the design of industrial estates for heavy industry.
We are committed to actively engaging with local communities and stakeholders to ensure other factors such as social development are included in the strategic planning process.
We also provide advice and support to a range of government agencies and private industry on infrastructure related matters, including land approval and access requirements for heavy industry and utilisation of existing industrial and support infrastructure.
Such projects include: -
Ord Expansion Project,
Oakajee Industrial Estate and Port Project, and
Kimberley LNG Project.
You can find more details about each of these projects in State Initiatives.
