The Western Australian Department of State Development (DSD) is recommended as the first point of contact with the State government for developers of major resource and related infrastructure projects.
DSD’s advisory services include guidance to assist project proponents through the process of getting the government approvals needed to bring plans to fruition. Advice from DSD is aimed at helping developers identify and understand the requirements relating to their specific proposal with a view to completing project approvals as quickly and efficiently as possible.
For complex projects, specific guidance is available through the Major Project Branch, Resources and Industrial Development Division within DSD, which has the job of coordinating the approval processes across government for this type of project.
The Department aims to provide improved coordination and facilitation of the necessary Government approvals processes for new industrial and resource development proposals in Western Australia.
