Kununurra Education Precinct
The Department of Education managed the construction works of the Kununurra Education Precinct project, which comprised four projects within the grounds of the Kununurra District High School. These included:

  • A secondary school upgrade 
  • A primary school upgrade
  • An expansion of the shared school/community library

The final stage of the project was completed in mid-2013.

EKDP_Kimberley TAFE
Kimberley Training Institute (Kimberley TAFE)
This project included upgrades to the Kununurra Training Institute complex and the Wyndham Training Institute complex. The project, managed by the Department of Training and Workforce Development, will improve access to trade training and education and support training in the region.

The Kimberley Training Institute upgrades were completed in March 2012.
EKDP_Early Learning Activities Centre
Wyndham Early Learning Activities Centre
The new Wyndham Early Learning Activities Centre project, managed by the Department of Education, entailed construction of a new facility that includes indoor and outdoor play spaces, storage, an office, a kitchen and landscaping, on land adjacent to the Wyndham District High School.

The WELA Centre was completed in June 2012.
EKDP_Community Meeting Rooms
Community Meeting Rooms
The Department of Education managed the Community Meeting Room project, which provided three community meeting places, one in Kununurra and two in the remote communities of Kalumburu and Dawul. The meeting places will help communities to develop adult learning activities in areas such as health, cooking and information technology.

The project was completed in September 2012.
EKDP_Out of School Care
Kununurra Out-of-School-Hours Care Facility
The Kununurra Out-of-School-Hours Care Facility project was initiated to help address the shortage of Out-of-School-Hours care for school-aged children. The facility is located at St Joseph’s School in Kununurra and is licensed for Out-of-School-Hours Care for up to 72 students. The construction of the facility was managed by the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia.

The facility was completed in March 2013.
