The Port of Ashburton is being planned as a multi-user port with common infrastructure to support the export of LNG and downstream hydrocarbon products.

The initial port development consists of a marine offloading facility and a shipping channel. This infrastructure is now in place and currently in use for landing major LNG train components and domestic gas plant equipment for the construction of the foundation stage of the Wheatstone Project.

Chevron has also constructed an LNG product loading facility for LNG exports from the Wheatstone Project. First LNG exports are expected in mid-2017.
