The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) has launched a second round of the Local Capability Fund (LCF) that is designed to support activities which assist SMEs in the South West to improve their commercial engagement with the State Government agencies and defence-related markets in Western Australia.
Up to $20,000 in dollar-for-dollar funding will be made available for eligible businesses to not only prepare, but to better position themselves to be both competitive and capable to respond to future project demands across the State and further afield.
The LCF will assist businesses to enhance their capabilities, increase their competitiveness and better prepare to participate as suppliers of products, services and works to State Government agencies, or respond to opportunities in the defence sector.
Funding will be provided for the following eligible categories:
- expert consultancy fees;
- equipment; and
- improvements to internal business infrastructure/systems.
Activities may include the implementation of Australian or international standards, market entry planning, equipment acquisition, upgrade or modification and the purchase of specialist applications software.
Level of funding
The level of funding support under this specific round of the LCF is 50% of eligible costs up to a maximum of $20,000 per successful applicant.
